L' A r r e l A c a d è m i a

L’Arrel Acadèmia is a new academic support center located in Manlleu, Barcelona. It offers personalized tutoring and academic reinforcement for students across all educational stages, from elementary to high school. In addition to helping students improve their academic performance, L’Arrel Acadèmia also provides services for adults, including language skills and preparation for entrance exams. Their mission is to help students succeed in their educational journey while making the process enjoyable and meaningful.

As a new business entering a small town with several established competitors, L’Arrel faced the challenge of establishing a strong, unique brand presence from the ground up. The primary goal was to differentiate themselves from other academies by highlighting what truly made them unique: the youthful, charismatic, and experienced team of teachers.

The main creative challenge was to find the perfect balance between two distinct audiences: the students and their parents. The brand needed to be fresh, fun, and relatable to attract adolescents, while simultaneously appearing professional, trustworthy, and high-quality to reassure their parents. The brand identity had to bridge this gap to effectively capture the attention of both groups and stand out in the local market.

To craft a distinctive and memorable brand identity that would effectively launch L’Arrel Acadèmia into the market and help it stand out from local competitors. The project’s goal was to communicate the brand’s core values of trust, quality, and a personal approach in a way that resonated with both students and parents.

We created a brand identity with a fun yet professional feel.

Central to the design was the concept of «L’Arrel», a Catalan word that means «The Root», we developed a logo and an icon that visually represent the growth of a tree and its roots, directly symbolizing the students’ personal and academic development.

We chose a bright color palette and playful sans-serif typography to appeal to a younger audience, while ensuring the overall design remained professional and trustworthy for parents.

We designed a clear and engaging social media presence to connect directly with L’Arrel’s young audience. This included creating a variety of brand templates and usage guidelines to ensure consistent application of the visual identity across all platforms. We also introduced the use of branded memes to create a fresh, fun, and relatable tone that would capture attention and build an online community.

We designed a full range of corporate and branded materials to create a professional and appealing image. From essential business stationery (invoices, contracts) to a line of attractive and functional merchandise, such as folders, stickers, tote bags, t-shirts, mugs, and notebooks. These items were designed to be genuinely appealing to the target audience, helping to build brand loyalty and making L’Arrel’s brand a visible part of the students’ lives beyond the classroom.
